Dr. Wayne Anderson, MD
Dr. Wayne Anderson is a board-certified Occupational Medicine physician and has been practicing in the Black Hills area for over 22 years. Additionally, he is board-certified in Preventive Medicine and is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. Dr. Anderson is also a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in ergonomics, worker safety and has served on the Ergonomics Committee of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Over the course of his career, he has served as Student Health Physician for Black Hills State University, adjunct Assistant Professor with the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Dakota and the Homestake Mining Company’s Medical Director. In 1998 he was appointed by Governor Janklow to serve on the Governor’s Workers’ Compensation Task Force. Currently, Dr. Anderson is a member of the board of directors of the South Dakota Guardianship Program and is a Workers’ Compensation Committee member with the South Dakota State Medical Association. Dr. Anderson received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and his Medical Degree from University of South Dakota School of Medicine at Vermillion.
